Epoxy Flake Floor Coating Benefits

Epoxy Flake Flooring is perfect for residential and commercial settings, that want to stand out. They are not only easy to maintain but have a longer lifespan and more stylish aesthetics than any other flooring option on the market.

Durable and Long lasting

We use high-performance and quality epoxy products, that are designed to stand up to heavy tire or foot traffic over years of use and different weather conditions. With its 4 layers of coating, Epoxy Flake Flooring is much thicker than simple epoxy and more durable than tiles or vinyl. With proper maintenance and cleaning, epoxy flake flooring will last 10+ years.

Chemical and heat resistant

Epoxy is known for its resistance to strong chemicals, making it ideal for manufacturing plants and food processing plants. You don't have to worry about using strong cleaning chemicals or equipment that produces high heat. Epoxy coatings can withstand high heat, without deforming.

Smooth non-porous surface

Unlike natural stone, hardwood, carpet, or even concrete flooring, epoxy is non-porous, meaning liquids, dirt, and dust cannot penetrate the surface. This prevents bacteria and mold growth. As epoxy is a completely smooth surface, it makes it extremely easy to clean and maintain, making it ideal for the health care and food industry.

UV Stable and Moisture resistant

The topcoat is 100% UV Stable and prevents the floor from yellowing over time. We also use Epoxy floor primer to provide moisture resistance and to form a waterproof barrier for the concrete floor, which prevents the floor from lifting and peeling off. These two layers make epoxy flake flooring the best and most affordable flooring for your driveway, patio, or pool deck.

Protects the concrete

Epoxy alone is 800% stronger than concrete alone. Without epoxy, your concrete is extremely porous, soaking up any liquids you spill on it. Once placed over your concrete it creates a protective barrier against moisture, grease, cracks, and stains.

How to apply Epoxy Flake Flooring

Without concrete slab preparation, your floor is destined to fail

The most important part of laying any new epoxy floor is preparation. If the concrete floor is not prepared properly, the epoxy coating will not bond well with the concrete, reducing the longevity dramatically. The flake flooring requires a clean and porous surface to adhere properly.

The first step of the process is mechanically grinding the concrete floor. This removes all dirt, grime, oil, stains, and impurities. It also helps create the right concrete profile, by opening the concrete pores.

We then move on to repair all cracks and holes in the concrete slab.
Once we are happy with the look of the concrete slab, we move on to applying a thin layer of epoxy primer to the floor. If the surface is not properly sealed the first time, we will have to apply a second coat of primer. The primer acts as a waterproof barrier, once the primer is fully cured, we then move onto applying the base coat and broadcast the colored flakes.

Once the flakes are settled and the base coat is cured, we remove the excess amount of epoxy flakes and move on to applying two coats of UV Stable Polyurethane topcoat.
