What is Concrete Grind and Seal

Swap the boring dusty concrete for more rustic and warehouse looking one.

If you want to protect your concrete surface from damage, corrosion, and staining, look no further than RGV's concrete sealers.
Our concrete sealers block the pores in the concrete to reduce the absorption of water and salts and to form an impermeable layer that prevents such materials from contamination.

Grind and seal has a similar look as polished concrete. However, rather than the concrete be polished until it shines, its ground to a 60 or 80 grit then coated with an appropriate topcoat.

Benefits of Concrete Grind and seal

A concrete grind and sealed floor offer several advantages that other flooring materials can't match, particularly when it comes to durability, performance, and sustainability. With its clean and rustic look, grind and seal is becoming the preferred flooring solution for commercial, industrial, and residential environments.

Durable and long lasting

We use high-performance and quality concrete sealing products, that are designed to stand up to heavy traffic through the years. They are resistant to many types of damage and can rarely be scratched or chipped. As it is non-porous, it is resistant to water and spills, ensuring that liquids will not damage, penetrate or stain your floor and concrete slab.

Concrete Dusting

Unpolished concrete is usually porous, which results in concrete dusting when there is wear and tear. The dusting is essentially the concrete material breaking down in fine powder, which can be seen building up in cracks, seams, and dents. The dust is not only a nuisance and a health hazard, but can also affect the performance of delicate equipment and manufactured goods. Sealing your concrete floors greatly reduces dusting and wear and tear.

Watertight

The most common locations for concrete flooring are basements, entryways, and foyers. What these places also have in common is water.
Grind and seal flooring is watertight, which means water won't be able to get into the floor itself or seeping into the walls.

Cost saving

Concrete grind and seal do not require as much floor prep as polished concrete. This makes it a cheaper option as it removes the added cost of floor preparation.
Its low maintenance also removes the need for costly upkeep.

Easy to clean/maintain

With its smooth surface, sealed concrete won't harbor any dust, dirt, or allergens, making it easy to clean, requiring only occasional damp mopping. A grind and seal floor also eliminates the need for waxes or coatings as well as the associated labor, time, and expense of applying them. The sealed concrete floor resists the marks of forklift truck tires and staining from oil and chemical spills.

Available in different colors

With the smooth, reflective surface of sealed concrete, you can choose a matte, satin, or gloss finish.
An array of stains and dyes are available for enhancing already existing concrete floors and to match with your interior.

How to do Concrete Grind and Seal

Turn your dusty concrete slab, into a fabulous floor with zero downtime to install.

Almost any structurally sound concrete floor can be ground and sealed, no matter new or old. There are a few exceptions for new concrete floors, where the slab should be in place for at least 28 days, to ensure the concrete mixture has properly dried.

We start with mechanically diamond grinding the concrete substrate to remove all dirt, stains, and impurities. We then do concrete repairs to fill in any cracks and holes.
We then finish it with a topcoat to suit the environment.
